Prometheus is based in Hereford where its offices and training department
exist. Its personnel include:
Dr Malcolm Russell
Managing Director

Actively
practising pre-hospital immediate care for over ten years, Malcolm
has worked with several ambulance services and has been involved in
training paramedics and emergency care practitioners for a number
of years. A GP by training, Malcolm worked in emergency medicine and
anaesthetics in a hospital environment before going on to work full-time
with London's air ambulance - the Helicopter Emergency Medical Services
(HEMS ) in 2001. Since then he has been actively involved pre-hospital
emergency medicine (part of the charity, the Mercia Accident Rescue
Service ). He has planned and conducted medical support to various
expeditions including the Army Everest West Ridge expedition, 2006. |

Alastair Nicol
Director
Dr Alastair Nicol is an experienced sports physician and pre-hospital
care practitioner, with particular expertise in planning and co-ordination
of medical support operations, including Humanitarian Assistance operations.
He has worked with a wide variety of specialist medical organisations
and has many years of experience in planning and delivering both emergency
and primary health care in remote areas around the globe. Dr Nicol is
a highly regarded instructor, designing, directing and teaching on a variety
of trauma and sports medicine courses in the UK and abroad.

Charles Deakin
Director
Charles works in a civilian hospital as a Consultant Anaesthetist.
He is a highly experienced cardio-thoracic anaesthetist and pre-hospital
care practitioner, having also worked with London HEMS and being the chairman
of his local pre-hospital care scheme. He is well known in the field of
resuscitation, holding the prestigious position of co-chairing the International
Liaison Committee on Resuscitation's Advanced Life Support Group. Dr Deakin
is also an internationally respected academic and author of many publications.
Mr
David Preece
Pharmacist
As a qualified and experienced pharmacist, Mr Preece provides the
correct legal and governance aspects relating to the management of drugs
and medicines by Prometheus personnel both in the UK and overseas.
In addition, Prometheus uses an extensive network of paramedics, nurses
and doctors to provide specialist advice, training and consultancy.
